Miller & Carter

Miller & Carter Christmas dinner Sunderland

Go all out this Christmas day with an indulgent five course meal at Miller & Carter steakhouse! Promising a Christmas meal to remember, these five courses will have your mouth watering in anticipation for the big day. At £77.95 pp, there’s been no expense spared on this delicious Christmas menu.

For starters you have a tantalizing choice between pan seared wild Atlantic scallops & king prawns, duck parfait & croquette duo or a vegan roasted shallot & armagnac tarte tatin. Then comes the first decadent Miller & Carter touch, a champagne sorbet to cleanse the palate before the main event!

For your main it’d be rude not to go with Miller & Carter’s signature ‘steak experience’, giving you a choice between an 8oz or 12oz 30 day aged prime steak with all the trimmings! Pair that with your choice of steak sauce and wedge dressing then you’re good to go.

If steak isn’t your thing there’s always the classic hand-carved turkey breast. Served up with lemon & thyme stuffing wrapped in bacon, Cumberland pigs in blankets and smoked beef dripping roast potatoes, who could resist this beaut of a plate!

For all of our vegan chums out there, there’s a tasty filled mediterranean-style vegetable risotto topped with onion loaf crumb, root vegetable crisps and sage for you to get your teeth into.

It’s finally dessert time and boy has Miller & Carter got some treats in store for you! We’ve picked a couple of our favourites out of the five strong menu. Top of our list has to be the  croque-en-bouche cheesecake! In plain English, that’s a baked vanilla cheesecake with a lush cookie dough base, topped with cream profiteroles and caramel sauce… unreal!

Following that closely and topping off Miller & Carter’s simply A* Christmas offering is the classic mixed fruit & kumquat Christmas pudding. You can’t go wrong with a good old pub served in a warm brandy sauce. Delightful!

The Palm

Christmas with a difference! If you want to swap Christmas trees and snow for palm trees and holiday vibes without getting on a plane then The Palm is your perfect Christmas dinner spot! Serving up both traditional dishes and daringly different choices, The Palm’s Crimbo menu is a combination of spicy cajun hits and hearty British classics. Feel free to jump from one to the other across the three courses!

Kicking things off we’ve got some festive loaded potato skins topped with candied bacon & brie cheese sauce – also available without the bacon veggie chums! If you’re looking for something completely different why not try some halloumi fries or a cajun prawn salad

Main course time and The Palm really have gone all out on variety! Of course there’s the classic roast turkey dinner, roast beef or homemade nut roast… but that’s not what you’re here for. You want to know what specialist dishes The Palm has on offer right? Well, the most unique one has to be the Bahian Coconut Fish Curry, followed closely by the Tandoori Marinated Chicken Kebab. To be honest both sound lush enough to make you change your Christmas dinner traditions for good!

It’s our favourite part of the menu again, the desserts! This time our line-up features another mouthwatering homemade Christmas pudding with a dollop of brandy cream, as well as a vanilla panna cotta, black forest roulade and a chocolate fudge cake. There’s one thing we can guarantee, you’ll be spoilt for choice and going home with a huge smile on your face after visiting The Palm this Christmas!
