The Genfactor is back and Gentoo’s search is on for this year’s Genfactor winner.
The annual talent competition organised by Gentoo is modelled on Britain’s Got Talent, and is set to be bigger and better than ever before.
Now in its tenth year, Genfactor is looking for singers, bands, dance acts, magicians, musicians and comedians aged 11-18.
If you think you’ve got the Genfactor then this could be your chance to shine and win £500.
The talent contest is designed to give young people the opportunity to showcase their talents.
By taking part they learn new skills, meet new people and gain confidence by performing in front of a live audience.
Michelle Meldrum, Executive Director (Operations), Gentoo said: “We’re delighted to celebrate Genfactor’s tenth year. Since its launch, we have seen so many incredibly talented performers.
“It’s great to watch young people’s confidence grow and what many of them have gone on to achieve. We are so proud of everyone who has entered Genfactor.”
This year’s talented acts will perform in front of up to 1,000 people at Rainton Meadows Arena with judges deciding who will be crowned the Genfactor 2018 winner.
Judges include Martin Longstaff, Lake Poets Frontman and West End star Brandon Lee Sears.
As well as watch all of the finalists perform, the crowd will also be entertained by last year’s winner Tahnee Kelly.
Tahnee said: “The best part about taking part in Genfactor is getting to perform on stage in the final at Rainton Meadows Arena in front of a big audience.
“The Genfactor helps you gain confidence, make new friends and everyone involved is so friendly and welcoming. Since taking part I’ve had lots of opportunities to perform at local events such as Sunniside Live.”
Tahnee: “Go for it, try not to be nervous as everyone is in the same position as you.”
