Sunderland’s Food & Drink Festival is back in action in June and this city-wide culinary bash is shaping up to be one for the ages!
Here’s everything you need to know about Sunderland Food & Drink Festival coming to the city this summer…
A month-long event hosted online by Sunderland City Council and Sunderland BID, this foodie festival will feature a range of online cookery demonstrations from celebrity chefs, food challenges for the whole family to get involved in, and a showcase of some of the finest restaurants and food retailers the city has to offer.
Taking to the online kitchen to showcase their range of award-winning culinary skills is celebrity chef, Rustie Lee and Great British Bake Off finalist Alice Fevronia.
This dynamic duo will be guiding you and your loved ones through a series of cooking demonstrations throughout June, and they’ll be covering everything from hearty mains to refreshing side dishes and delicious desserts.
Sunderland Food & Drink Festival is also welcoming The Gastronaut to the virtual stage as he showcases interesting and intriguing food experiments that you can do from the comfort of your own home.
Who is The Gastronaut? Well, it’s a brilliant food and science media company run by food adventurer and TV presenter, Stefan Gates.
Stefan is renowned for working with robots, cannons, rockets and extraordinary science stunts to create a high-octane family show based around our love of food!
All of that, plus creative workshops and group challenges as schools and community groups are being asked to show what they love about Sunderland by designing a cake inspired by our wonderful city. Get your thinking caps on!

Having won the hearts of the public on Channel 4’s The Great British Bake Off, Alice now produces beautiful recipes for the likes of Cosmopolitan and Delish UK.
