Independent Sunderland are the lifeblood of our beautiful city. Here’s a quick look at some of the stores, cafes and services we’ve been loving since the city reopened…
Lexi Jane’s Craft Cafe
Toys, crafts and cake – sounds too good to be true, right? Introducing Lexi Jane’s Craft Cafe – a creative wonderland and the perfect place to get the kids away from the screens.
From painting sessions to glitter creations and everything in between, this craft cafe has been delighting families across the region for years now and it’s the place to be for budding creatives young and old.
New City Cobbler
There’s a new kid on the block! If, like us, you have been misplacing your keys and wearing the tread out on your favourite shoes due to lockdown walks, the super friendly team over at New City Cobbler are on hand to rectify all your post- lockdown troubles.
These guys are the experts when it comes to resoling your trusty kicks, bagging yourself a colourful key-fob and sharpening those sorry- looking gardening tools.
The Little Shop
We’re super excited about this one! The Little Shop on High Street West has certainly brought a smile to our faces (and bellies)!
Over the road from The Engine Room, The Little shop is a brand new foodie collaboration from our chums at Holmeside Coffee, Ship Isis, Independent Sunderland and Mexico 70.
From delicious sourdough bread, to hoppy beers and handmade donuts, we have a sneaky feeling that The Little Shop won’t be so little for long. Well worth a venture this September.
A small business serving up big treats! Show some love to the friendly folk over at Coppertree Cafe.
They’ve been non-stop during lockdown; making sure all of our sweet and savoury needs have been well-catered for, and now they’re back open with a brand new back garden – perfect to hunker down and enjoy a slice of the fine life in the last of the summer rays.
Reinvented with Love
Has your favourite chair taken a beating during lockdown? Give it a new lease of life thanks to the master craftsmen over at Reinvented with Love!
We’re all about doing our bit for the environment, so why not bring some of your favourite furnishings back to life – all while saving some dosh and protecting our planet.
