The friendly folk at Red Sky Foundation just keep on delivering the goods – and we love nothing more than shouting about their efforts!

Their goodwill shows no sign of slowing down as they’re giving our readers the chance to WIN a stunning Hyundai i10 worth over £17,000 – all in the name of charity.

All you need to do is text RED to 70215, give something to charity and get those fingers and toes crossed for 18 January when the winner will be announced.

Deano Franciosy

Let’s hear it for Deano Franciosy! This magical Mackem took on the Virtual London Marathon with an added challenge and has raised a hefty sum for a local charity.

This inspiring local is a Sunderland City Council Waste Operative, and he recently completed a marathon for St Oswald’s – which is a huge feat in itself – but he’s done it with a wheelie bin attached to his back!

It’s a monumental effort from Deano, and it also means that he has raised over £20,000 for different North East charities over the last 20 years. Nice one!

Lillian Griffiths

Huge shoutout to Lillian Griffiths! She’s been fundraising for charities for the last 30 years, and she’s recently raised a fabulous £3,450 for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

Lilian has been selling second hand goods in exchange for donations to this iconic charity, and it’s a win-win situation; people pick up rare CDs, second hand books and DVDs for a bargain price, and the proceeds go to a beautiful North East charity.

Keep going Liliian – we’re all right behind you!

Brenda Naisby

Let’s hear it for Brenda Naisby! She has recently won a national award for her work in the local community and has been an outstanding voice against domestic abuse.

Working alongside our friends at Gentoo, Brenda has played an active role in her local community for more than five years, giving something back to the organisation that supported her and provided her with a home safe from abuse.

Starting with a lunch club in her hometown, Brenda, alongside Gentoo employees, prepared home-cooked meals in the local community centre for residents to alleviate social isolation and bring a smile to faces.
