Gentoo is on the lookout for new apprentices to start in September 2018.

They are offering office-based business administration roles in Health and Safety, Support and Customer Services, with applications open until 5pm on Friday 13 July.

To date, the organisation has created more than 240 apprenticeships since 2001, and currently has 31 apprentices in the organisation.

Louise Bassett, Executive Director (Corporate Services) at Gentoo said: “At Gentoo, we are committed to developing talent and apprentices are an excellent way of doing this.

“Offering apprenticeships is part of our People Strategy and we have a strong track record of supporting people through their chosen career path.

“By working in partnership with Sunderland College we have successfully recruited enthusiastic and talented apprentices and we are delighted to be helping to develop young people and adults to gain the necessary skills and qualifications to enhance their careers.

“We look forward to welcoming another three apprentices to Gentoo.”

Harry McMullen, who joined Gentoo as a Sales and Marketing Apprentice last year, said: “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to complete a Sales and Marketing Apprenticeship within Gentoo Homes.

“I have had so many opportunities since joining Gentoo, and have gained hands-on experience whilst also studying for a professional qualification in the sale of residential property.

“I would highly recommend an office-based apprenticeship at Gentoo as it has provided me with a great opportunity to learn about the different departments within a large organisation and I’ve already gained some invaluable business acumen that will give a great platform to propel my career.”

Payroll Apprentice at Gentoo, Amy Kelsey said: “I chose an apprenticeship with Gentoo because I knew Gentoo was a big organisation and it was a great opportunity to develop more skills and meet new people.

“I would recommend Gentoo as a place to do an apprenticeship because it is a great place to work and everyone is so supportive.

“I enjoy going to work and learning at the same time. I would highly recommend this as a place to work for anyone looking for an apprenticeship.”
