the Bridges is helping students to stretch their student loans further, with a special discount night.
Special offers, goody bags, freebies and competitions will be on offer across a whole range of stores at Sunderland’s Bridges shopping centre, on Monday 1 October.
Students attending colleges and universities in the region can head to the Bridges from 6:30pm until late to pick up everything from books to shoes to food.
This year’s event promises to be one of the biggest yet, with the majority of stores across the centre taking part.
Andy Bradley, centre director at the Bridges, is delighted that so many stores have got on board with the event.
Andy: “This is the eighth Student Raid we have held at the Bridges and it is looking set to be the best event we have had yet.
It’s a great way for new students to get a bit more familiar with the city and for returning students to grab a bargain for the new academic year.”
A whole host of stores are putting the final touches to their deals, offering students up to 20 per cent off are the Disney Store, Krispy Kreme, Kurt Geiger, Waterstones, Topshop, Hotel Chocolat and New Look, and many others.
Some retailers are even throwing in something extra, with Waterstones offering a goody bag with every purchase, Hotel Chocolat handing out one freebie per guest and Topshop will have a DJ in store, as well as a braid bar, lash application and giveaways.
The event is free to attend but students must register beforehand by visiting www.thebridges-shopping.com.
