Sunderland’s brand new music event is searching for local talent to take to the stage alongside more established artists.
With headline acts still to be announced for this summer’s city centre event27/28 September, organisers are looking for local bands and artists to showcase their talents in front of the thousands of people expected to attend.
The event, which will be launched in the coming weeks, will be held in Sunniside Gardens and various venues throughout the city centre and will feature several headline acts as well as a range of home grown emerging talent.
Organisers are asking musicians from across the spectrum of genres and styles to come forward with demos and samples of their work for consideration, in the following categories;
– Hip Hop
Sunderland City Council Executive Director of Neighbourhoods, Fiona Brown said: “Sunderland has a fantastic live music scene and outstanding local talent, and this new city centre event is a great opportunity to showcase that to a wider, regional audience.
“We are looking for artists from across the musical genres to come forward, as we’re expecting people of all ages and musical tastes to join us at this brand new, major live music event.”
The deadline for entries is 12pm on 31 May, with samples provided in CD/Memory stick format handed in to the reception Civic Centre, Burdon Rd, Sunderland SR2 7DN.
