The City of Sunderland has been named as one of the UK’s best cities to raise a family, according to a new report.
Moneysupermarket.com recently released a table of the 35 most family-friendly cities in the UK, with Sunderland finishing in sixth place.
The report considers school quality, number of parks, crime rates, average salary, job opportunities and average house prices.
Each of the 35 cities were ranked for each category before then receiving an overall score and being ranked in a league table.
Sunderland scored highly for the number of its parks, the quality of its schools, its average house price and its low burglary rates.
London, on the other hand, finished in 35th place, due to its soaring average house prices and burglary rates.
