Ready to get your teeth into one of the most exciting events on the city calendar?

Then take a bite out of Sunderland Restaurant Week…

Sunderland Business Improvement District are delighted to announce that they’ve got yet another tasty line-up of restaurants, cafés, bars and pubs which will be offering their fabulous fayre at a special offer price.

And as the theme of the autumn edition of Vibe is pride there couldn’t be a more fitting way of promoting that message.

There’s certainly much to be proud of about Restaurant Week – not only because it show-cases the City’s fantastic food scene but also because of the boost it brings to the local economy.

But of course it couldn’t happen if it wasn’t for the support of all of eateries – so we’re proud of them too, from the exciting independent cafés and restaurants to the national favourites who have made Sunderland their home.

From Saturday 8 September to Sunday 16 September you can fill your boots – and your shoes, sandals and socks come to that – with mouth-watering meals provided by Sunderland’s top eateries.

Back for the fifth time, this twice-yearly event keeps going from strength to strength, giving local people and foodies from further afield the opportunity to sample the city’s ever-growing food scene.

Many firm favourites have signed up yet again and are preparing for another busy week.

For food lovers the event is just too good to miss, with most participants offering two and three course meals for £10 and £15 respectively.

At the same time cafés and smaller outlets also come up with a range of special offers, usually priced at £5 and available during the day.

While it’s a great opportunity to dine out in style, Sunderland Restaurant Week also brings a huge boost to city businesses.

In March an amazing 15,000 people downloaded offer vouchers, bringing in an additional £280,000 to the local economy.

And that’s not all. Around 50% of people who took part in a survey carried out by Sunderland BID after the event admitted that, if it hadn’t been for Restaurant Week, they wouldn’t have eaten out that week at all.

Keep checking the BID’s website for all the information on the latest restaurant sign ups and to download your special vouchers.

And of course if you’re too full to even contemplate driving home never fear – Restaurant Week supporter Station Taxis is on hand at 0191 555 5555 or download their app at
