These seasoned, local dancers were certainly out to impress a panel of judges during auditions held this summer – and they certainly did!

Martin Dodd, Producer, UK Productions said: “Every year I am blown away with the talent of the local youngsters that we audition in Sunderland. It is one of the hardest jobs I have to do to select the final 16 who will take place in the show, I only wish we could use more of them. It is however fantastic that we are able to offer these talented youngsters the chance to be able to be part of a professional show with such a stellar line up of stars. ”

Both dance schools are equally thrilled to be performing in this year’s festive offering – Principal Kathleen Davis, Kathleen Davis Stage School said: “To perform in a professional pantomime is the icing on the cake for every young dancer. It is an opportunity for them to show the fruits of their training and gives them an insight into professional theatre at its very best. The experience will carry them forward and inspire many of them to take up theatre work as a profession in the future.”

Principal Shameem Karim, Shameem Karim School of Performing Arts said: “This will be our 8th year working in partnership with UK Productions and Sunderland Empire and our 8 Junior dancers are very excited to be performing in Cinderella this Christmas.
