The Bridges Multi Storey (Green Terrace)
Boasting approximately 760 spaces, the Bridges Multi Storey at Green Terrace (SR1 3DR) is Sunderland’s biggest car park and is one of the cheapest places to park, with free parking also on offer for one night only and an electric vehicle charging point on Level 3.
Opening times are Monday – Saturday 7am – 11:30pm, Sunday & Bank Hols 8am – 11:30pm. The tariffs are £1.50 per hour 7am – 6pm Monday – Friday, then 50p per hour 6pm – 7am. The Bridges offers FREE Parking during late night Thursdays from 5:30-9pm. On Sundays/Bank Holidays there’s a £2 flat rate from 8am – 6pm, then 50p per hour from 6pm – 7am.
The Bridges Rooftop (York Street)
With 215 spaces, The Bridges Rooftop car park on York Street (SR1 3DR) is another great spot for direct access to Sunderland’s retail hub. Opening times are 8am – 6:30pm Monday – Wednesday & Friday – Saturday, 8am – 9:30pm on Thursday, 10am – 6:30pm on Sunday/Bank Holidays. The tariffs are £1.50 per hour 7am – 5:30pm Monday – Wednesday & Friday – Saturday, 50p per hour from then on. £2 flat rate on Sundays and bank holidays.
This multi-storey has 480 spaces over four floors on St.Mary’s Boulevard (SR1 3AH). Opening times are 8am – 11:30pm Monday – Saturday, 10am – 11:30 on Sunday/Holidays. The tariffs are £1.50 per hour on Monday-Friday from 8am – 3pm, then free parking from 3pm – midnight, then 90p per hour from midnight to 8am. On Saturday it’s £1.50 per hour from 8am – 6pm, then 90p per hour from 6pm – midnight. Sunday is a £2 flat rate all day. You can also buy a monthly permit for £112.50.

Sunniside Car Park (William Street)
Having 653 spaces, this is another large multi storey that’s not far from the shops and city centre on William Street, off high street west (SR1 1UL). This one is also open 24 hours a day, but closed on Christmas Day. The tariffs are £1.30 per hour on Monday – Saturday from 8am – 6pm. Then 90p per hour from 6pm to 8am. You can also opt for a £5 per day flat rate through the week. Sunday is a £2 flat rate all day. This car park currently provides free parking after 3pm until midnight from Monday to Friday. You can also buy a monthly permit for £75.
Livingstone Road Car Park (St Mary’s Boulevard)
This surface car park is a great alternative to the larger multi storeys in the town centre, located on St Mary’s Boulevard (SR1 3AW). The car park boasts 57 spaces, six coach bays, eight disabled bays, two electric charging points and three motorcycle bays. The tariffs are £1.30 per hour on Monday – Saturday from 8am – 6pm, then a flat rate of £2 from 6pm to midnight. This car park currently provides free parking on Sundays, Bank Holidays and after 3pm from Monday to Friday. You can also buy a monthly permit for £112.50.
