THE longest established hospice in the North East is on the look out for new trustees to help drive the charity forward.
St Benedict’s Hospice, in Ryhope, Sunderland, is marking its 35thanniversary in 2019 and is looking to recruit new trustees to play a key role in the next phase of its development.
St Benedict’s Hospice Charity works within a strategic agreement with South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust to support the work of St Benedict’s Hospice & Centre for Specialist Palliative Care.
Derek Moss, chairman of trustees at the hospice, said: “Finding the right people to become a trustee is vital if we’re to continue to adapt and move the charity forward. We need support to develop our strategic, business retail and income generation plans.
“The charity is keen to hear from anyone who shares its passion for ensuring that patients and families who need palliative and hospice care services within Sunderland and district receive the very best of care, and who feel that they can use their skills, expertise and networks to enable the charity to develop.”
Enquiries from all sectors of the community are welcome but in particular the charity has identified the following disciplines as needed to enhance the skills within the existing Board:
· NHS management and commissioning experience
· Strategic Marketing skills (preferably within a voluntary sector environment)
· High level charity income generation knowledge
· Business entrepreneurship
For more information on these voluntary roles within the charity or to request an information pack, interested parties should, in the first instance, call Catrina Flynn, Head of Fundraising Operations on 0191 512 8435 or email [email protected].
