BRITAIN’S biggest talent show is coming to Sunderland, with auditions being held in The Engine Room at The Fire Station later this month.
ITV favourite Britain’s Got Talent (BGT), which is hosted by the North East’s Ant and Dec, will be in the city to shine a spotlight on its superstars on Tuesday, September 17 from 9am to 9pm.
The auditions, which are open to anyone – including under 18-year olds if accompanied by an adult – are expected to see hundreds flock to the Minster Quarter, to showcase their talent for a chance to make it onto the primetime TV show.
Joe Smith, operations director at Pub Culture, which operates the Fire Station’s Engine Room venue, said: “We’re expecting a carnival atmosphere for the auditions – a real feel good factor as talented people from in and around the city came to show their skills.
“We’re really looking forward to welcoming the team from BGT to our venue, and the fantastic people – young and old – who will be attending to vie for their place in Britain’s most famous talent show…and good luck to everyone brave enough to face those judges.”
The Engine Room will be open as usual on the day of auditions, but Mr Smith has urged anyone planning to attend for a meal to book.
“Audition day is expected to be phenomenally busy, so anyone hoping to grab a bite to eat is advised to book in advance. We’re really looking forward to it.”

Anyone wishing to audition for Britain’s Got Talent can just turn up to the Fire Station on the day, and anyone unable to make it along can apply online via www.itv.com/talent.
