This Engineering degree apprenticeship consists of two pathways; manufacturing engineering and electrical engineering practice.
The programme develops scientific and mathematical principles that equip apprentices with the understanding required to operate effectively and efficiently as senior engineers and managers.
The programme has been developed in conjunction with industry stakeholders and key employers including large multinational manufacturing companies and SME’s across the region.

The Learning and Skills Teacher apprenticeship is ideal for those involved in training delivery across a wide range of industry sectors.
It provides an opportunity to enhance the skills and knowledge of those who deliver training in an organisation.
Apprentices will gain invaluable ‘on the job’ experience as well as achieving a Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training qualification.
They will gain professional recognition and develop essential knowledge and skills needed to deliver outstanding and effective training.

This apprenticeship explores intrapersonal development in order to enhance a positive impact within an organisation. Apprentice leaders will learn how to build and sustain effective relationships through collaboration and develop high performing teams.

There are two Digital and Technology apprenticeships available at the University of Sunderland.
The BSc (Hons) Digital and Technology Solutions Professional apprenticeship offers two different pathways which lead to an undergraduate degree in BSc (Hons) Digital and Technology Solutions.
Software Engineering combines the theoretical fundamentals of software engineering and programming with practical development of IT solutions using industry standard software languages and tools.
Cybersecurity investigates the principles of cybersecurity and applies these in a work-based environment.
It will explore the technical and behavioural aspects of cybersecurity to develop policies, procedures as well as solutions.
This is a well-established programme that provides an opportunity to bring digital technology and business requirements together.
It enables apprentices to examine and apply new developments in specialist areas of computer science.
The MSc Digital and Technology Solutions Specialist apprenticeship provides the opportunity to enhance specialist areas of software engineering and develop skills to build a digital solution focused leadership team.

Teacher Apprenticeship Information events…

The Teacher degree apprenticeship is for anyone who currently works in or plans to work in primary or secondary school education.
Apprentices on this programme will gain invaluable ‘on the job’ experience while achieving a PGCE qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
This apprenticeship will enable individuals to graduate with a set of highly valuable and transferable skills such as work-based research, planning, communication, teamwork and collaboration.
They can gain professional recognition and develop the essential knowledge and skills needed to be an effective and outstanding teacher.
Level 7 Senior Journalist degree apprenticeship – Employer Consultation Event…

The University of Sunderland is considering developing a level 7 Senior Journalist Degree Apprenticeship.
UoS are looking for employers to consult with and further explore whether there is an interest in this degree apprenticeship and if so, what you feel this should look like.
Employer involvement in apprenticeship development is crucial to ensure that our programmes meet employer needs and requirements as well as address the correct business or industry wide skills gaps.
The University of Sunderland are looking for media business employers, covering a diverse range of organisations to take part in this collaborative consultation event.
This event will be hosted by Lee Hall, Head of School of Media and Communications.
They’re inviting organisations to get involved in their consultation meeting on Thursday 10th June 1 – 2.30pm.
